What Other Information Does Pioneer Collect?
Automatic Information: We automatically receive and record certain types of information whenever you interact with the Pioneer Websites. This information, which is recordable any time you use the Internet, includes the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your domain name, and computer and connection information such as browser type and version. We use this information to learn how you use the Pioneer Websites, to remember your visits, and to diagnose problems. In addition, like many websites, we use a technology called "cookies" to record your activity while visiting the Pioneer Websites. A number of companies and browsers offer utilities designed to block the passage of automatic information or the use of cookies. Although these utilities will prevent you from having a personalized experience at the Pioneer Websites, we want you to be aware that these tools exist. Additionally, "pixel tags" (lines of code also known as clear GIFs) are placed selectively on this website and in advertisements that link to it to analyze general usage patterns of visitors. These pixel tags are programmed to collect only non-personally identifiable information. We also use pixel tags in email announcements sent to opt-in recipients to measure, as a whole, the level of interest in the announcements.
More Information About Cookies: Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer's hard drive through your Web browser to enable us to personalize your Web browsing experience, including allowing our system to record your logon and password. The "help" portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. However, cookies allow you to take advantage of several features on the Pioneer Websites, and we recommend that, in order to benefit from these features, you leave them turned on.
Some of the Pioneer Websites may also use local shared objects known as “Flash cookies” to store your preferences or display content based upon what you view on the Websites in order to personalize your visit. Flash cookies are different from browser cookies because of the amount and types of data collected and how it is stored.
